Sully's Story

Sully is truly such a great dog. He absolutely loves people and other dogs and is always eager to make new friends and play. He is doing amazingly well with house training - he settles when his people settle and is consistently going to the bathroom outside.

He is a total lover and just wants to be around people, soaking up pets and attention. Sully does great on car rides; getting him in and out is the hardest part, but once he's in the car he lays down calmly and enjoys the ride.

He's also doing well with crate training and sleeps in his crate at night. He may protest at first (he's clever and can escape, so the crate is secured), but he settles within about 10 minutes and sleeps through the night.

On leash, Sully is doing very well. He can get excited when he sees another dog and may tug because he wants to say hi, but a gentle cue, a touch on the butt, and asking him to sit works immediately. He'll calmly sit and watch dogs go by. Overall, he walks nicely and isn't dragging you around, though he does get occasional bursts of puppy energy - a simple "woahhh" and he slows right down. He's very responsive and eager to please.

Sully doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. You can do just about anything with him and he's happy - he truly just loves being loved. He's still learning how to play with toys and will engage for a minute before moving on. He isn't very food-motivated; he's much more driven by affection and human connection.

He already knows sit and wait and is picking things up incredibly fast. In just 6 days, he's gone from not living in a home to becoming a wonderful, well-adjusted companion. Sully would be an amazing addition to any loving home.
