Subaruu's Story

Subaruu A187021
50 lb. neutered male, approx 2 years old

-Once outside, this sweet boy was happiest when he could be close to me! He eagerly climbed into my lap for pets and attention, soaking up all the love and offering plenty of sweet kisses in return. He especially enjoyed relaxing between my legs for pets, belly rubs, and more affection.

-He can be a little timid and head shy at first, so he'll thrive with someone patient and gentle who will let him settle in and build confidence at his own pace. Toys aren't really his thing right now, but treats definitely are! He knows how to sit and takes his snacks politely--though his excitement sometimes gets the best of him and he adds a little happy jump to the mix.

-He appears to be a potty holder and may already have some house-training under his belt. Like any dog, he may need a little time to adjust to a new home and new routines, but with patience, consistency, and plenty of love, we think he'll blossom beautifully.

-This affectionate boy is simply looking for a soft place to land and someone who will show him that he's safe, loved, and home.

-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30.

**We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog.
**1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
