Stuart's Story

Meet Stuart!

Stuart is a 7-year-old, 102-pound Bernedoodle—a beautiful mix of Bernese Mountain Dog and Standard Poodle. This big, lovable guy was surrendered when his owner moved to a condo and could no longer provide the space and care he needed. Now Stuart is searching for a new family that will love him furever.

Stuart is an affectionate, playful boy who loves attention and enjoys meeting new people. He likes playing with toys, fetching, going for car rides, and spending time with his family. He is also a loyal companion and an attentive watchdog who will alert his people when something unusual is happening.

This handsome fella is slightly overweight and would benefit from a healthy diet and appropriate daily exercise. Stuart is strong and pulls on the leash, so his future home must have a securely fenced physical yard where he can safely exercise without someone having to muscle 102 pounds of enthusiasm. He is not a candidate for a tether or invisible fence.

Although Stuart has never lived with another dog, he has had plenty of positive interactions with dogs in the past and continues to socialize without issue. He is not a fan of cats and will need a feline-free home. Stuart has previously been around children and could do well with older, dog-savvy kids who are sturdy enough not to be accidentally knocked over by such a large companion.

Stuart is house-trained and has excellent manners in the home. He can be trusted when left alone and does not need to be crated. As a Bernedoodle, he will require regular brushing and professional grooming to keep his coat healthy and comfortable.

Stuart has a lipoma beneath his chest. This is a common, benign lump made up of fat cells that develops beneath the skin, particularly in older dogs. It does not currently require surgical intervention or interfere with his quality of life. He is in otherwise great health and displays no mobility issues or slowing down for that matter - he is still very active and is seeking an equally active family with xl breed experience.

With his affectionate personality, playful spirit, and loyal nature, Stuart has so much love and companionship to offer. He is looking for a family with the space, strength, and commitment to love this very good—and very big—boy!

Stuart is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Neutered

ADOPTION FEE: $300

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
