Stripe's Story

Stripe and her sister Star were picked up as strays on the lam in rural Utah. Star has been adopted. Stripe is about 4 years old and is 15 inches at the shoulder and weighs 19 pounds.
Stripe loves everyone she meets. Older dog-smart children should be fine, but she has not been tested with children. NO cats! Stripe is house and dog door trained and she rides very well in the car. She gets along well with other friendly dogs, but absolutely NO poultry or cats.
Stripe would love to join an active hiking outdoorsy family who would take her for long sniff walks. She does get frustrated if "her" people are out of sight but on the other side of a barrier and then she will dig to join her folks. Another canine best friend would be ideal.
Stripe has been spayed and is fully vaccinated. She had an inguinal hernia removed - probably from being backyard-bred - and she is in excellent health and good shape.
Stripe is in foster care in the Boise area. Her adoption fee is $200.

Jack Russell Rescue Oregon Washington & Idaho's Adoption Policy
We require an approved application before setting up a meet with any of our dogs. In most cases, secure fencing is a must - exceptions may be made for certain "Velcro" dogs and isolated rural properties, or for urban adopters who run daily. Except for certain dogs, no kids under the age of 6 is our rule of thumb, but it depends again on the dog and on the kids. We have a 2 to 3 week trial adoption period for all our dogs - we want everyone to be happy - and we back our dogs up for their lifetimes. Thank you for thinking of a rescue Jack!
