Stripe's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet 44% Golden Retriver pup Stripe!Stripe is 1 of a litter of 11 puppies who were found abandoned in a box at a veterinary office in San Bernardino when they were only about a week old. The puppies were taken to the San Bernardino City Shelter and then divided among several rescues because newborn puppies require constant feeding and care. Stripe came to us with his brother Gizmo, and both boys did wonderfully in foster care. Gizmo has since gone to a very promising foster-to-adopt home, while Stripe is still waiting for his turn.<br/>Stripe has grown into a fun, affectionate puppy with a big personality. He loves to play, learns quickly, and truly enjoys being around people, as well as other dogs. Whether it’s playtime, cuddle time, or just hanging out nearby, Stripe is happiest being part of whatever you’re doing. He’s very smart, eager to please, and a quick learner. He is already crate trained and making progress with potty training.Stripe’s DNA results show he is 44% Golden Retriever and 22% German Shepherd, with the rest being a mix of several breeds, which gives him a wonderful blend of intelligence, playfulness, and loyalty. He is expected to grow into a large dog.Puppies require a significant time commitment and patience. Stripe is still young and will need continued guidance as he grows. This includes house training, basic obedience training, socialization, and learning appropriate chewing and play behavior. Like all puppies, he may have accidents, will continue teething, and will need consistent structure, positive reinforcement, and supervision to help him become a well-mannered adult dog.Stripe is fully vaccinated and ready to go home on a foster-to-adopt basis. His adoption will be finalized once he is neutered at approximately 6 months of age, and adopters will be required to bring him to our veterinarian for this procedure. If you are looking for a playful, smart, and loving puppy to grow up with your family, Stripe may be the perfect match.Apply here: http://www.causeforsbpaws.org/forms/form?formid=3251
