Storm's Story

Hi... I'm Storm.

I might not be the kind of dog who runs right up to you right away-but if you give me a little time, I promise I'm worth it.

I'm a 3-year-old pittie/terrier mix with a soft heart that's still learning to feel safe in the world. New people and new places can make me a little nervous, and I can be kind of awkward while I figure things out... but once I trust you, oh my goodness-I am all love. I'll be right by your side, soaking up cuddles and giving you the sweetest kisses.

I've been discovering so many new things lately-like toys! I'm still learning how to "dog," but it turns out I really like to play. I also enjoy going on walks (I'm actually a pretty great leash walker!) and then coming home to relax and snuggle with my favorite people.

Having dog friends really helps me come out of my shell. I came in with my sister, Audacity, and she's helped me feel brave-but I can also do well with other kind, patient dogs who will give me time to build confidence. I might be a little unsure at first, but with the right friend, my goofy side really starts to shine.

My past wasn't my fault-I was surrendered when my owner moved somewhere that didn't allow dogs. When I first got to the shelter, I was really scared... but every day, I'm getting a little braver and learning that the world isn't so scary after all.

I've been told I did well with cats and kids in my previous home, but because I'm still gaining confidence, I'd probably feel most comfortable in a calmer home with older kids or teenagers who understand I just need a little patience.

What I really need is someone who will go slow with me, cheer me on, and celebrate all my little victories. In return, I'll give you a bond that's truly special-the kind that only comes from earning the trust of a shy dog and watching her blossom.

If you're looking for a gentle, loving soul to grow with... I'm right here.

Love,
Storm
