Stevie's Story
Meet Stevie, a 1.5-year-old Lab/Pit mix weighing approximately 40 pounds who is looking for a loving, patient home to call her own. Stevie was surrendered when her owner moved into senior living and was no longer able to keep her. She is now ready for a fresh start with a family who will truly cherish her. Stevie has been diagnosed with a condition called microphthalmia, meaning her eyes never fully developed and are significantly smaller than normal. As a result, her vision is impaired. This condition is not fixable or repairable; however, Stevie was born this way and has successfully navigated life with it. She is resilient, adaptable, and understands how to move through her environment. Because of her vision limitations, Stevie will need a home that is prepared to give her time to acclimate and learn her new surroundings. In the beginning, some minor adjustments may be helpful while she learns the logistics of her new home. With patience, consistency, and guidance, she will quickly build confidence and become comfortable. Stevie is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and trusting. She does well with other dogs and has a loving personality that makes her a wonderful companion. She is house trained and has been accustomed to roaming freely in a home environment. Stevie's adoption fee is $125 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations including rabies, and she is heartworm negative. If you're looking for a sweet, resilient dog who will bring unconditional love into your life, Stevie may be the perfect match.
