Steven Jr.'s Story

Steven is the shyest of his brothers, but there is so much more to this sweet German Shepherd mix than his first impression. He is a particularly petite Shepherd mix, currently around 35 pounds, and we expect him to stay on the smaller side at roughly 45 pounds or less full grown.

Steven may hang back when meeting someone new and need a little extra time to decide that everything is okay, but once he feels safe and gets to know you, he blossoms into your best friend. He would especially thrive with another confident, friendly dog who can show him the ropes and give him a little extra courage. Having a canine companion to follow and learn from could help him feel more comfortable as he discovers his new world.

Once he has had time to decompress and trust you, the puppy comes out. He is playful, sweet, and affectionate, and watching him transform from a shy little guy into a happy puppy is incredibly rewarding.

Steven has been raised with children, dogs, and cats and is comfortable growing up around all of them. He is doing great with potty training and crate training and is working on leash training. He does best with someone who is confident, consistent, and willing to guide him without overwhelming him.

His future family should be prepared to keep introducing Steven to the world in a positive way. Outings, new people, new places, new sounds, and new experiences will all help him build confidence and learn that the world is a wonderful place to explore.

Steven may take a little longer to show you who he is, but that makes the moment he finally chooses you all the more special. Behind that shy first impression is a playful, loving, petite Shepherd mix who is just waiting for the right person, and maybe the right doggy friend, to help him blossom.

Est DOB 1/1/26
