His former owner, a young man struggling with addiction, had accumulated 22 dogs without the ability to properly care for them. When his family discovered the situation, they stepped in and reached out for help.

Together, we created a plan—taking in 11 of the dogs while the family worked to rehome the others.

When Steve first arrived, he was shy, unsure, and deeply affected by his past. Like many dogs from hoarding environments, he needed time, patience, and consistent love to begin healing.

Over the past year and a half, Steve has slowly but beautifully transformed. He's built trust, gained confidence, and learned what it means to feel safe.

Now, he's ready. Ready for a family, for love, and for a place to finally call home. Like his siblings who have already found their happy endings, Steve is waiting for his chance at a new life in the Pacific Northwest.

Location: Steve is currently in Mexico and ready to travel once a committed trial family is found

Interested in Steve?
Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org
Adoption Fee: $600

Give Steve the chance he's been waiting for—and gain a loyal, loving best friend for life.
