Steve's Story
Uncle Steve: Shepherd. Social Butterfly. Certified Goofball.

He earned the nickname "Uncle Steve" thanks to his incredible social skills — he’s the dog our staff rely on to help bring shy or nervous pups out of their shells. Whether a dog is bouncing off the walls or hiding behind their person, Uncle Steve knows exactly how to meet them where they are and invite them into gentle, joyful play.

He’s also... well, a little funny-looking. His legs go on for miles, and he moves like someone put a shepherd on stilts. But that just makes him more lovable. Steve enjoys exploring, did great in his foster weekend in Greenwood, and has been a total star with dogs of all sizes.

If you want a dog who’s equal parts heart and hilarity, Steve’s your guy.

The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.

Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.

** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process.
