He enjoys taking several from the toy box to his bed and is especially talented at removing squeakers. He loves carrying his toys around and shaking them. He is comfortable with his foster parents approaching and taking toys, though he can be a possessive around his furry sister. His foster family is helping him learn that sharing is a good thing.<br/><br/>Good House Manners<br/>Sterling has made wonderful progress in his foster home:<br/><br/>- Potty trained and learned the doggie door almost immediately<br/>- Crate trained and goes in easily without a fuss<br/>- Walks well on leash<br/>- Has adjusted well to scheduled meals<br/>- Is not food aggressive, although he may occasionally try to sneak his fur sister’s treats!<br/>- Has been comfortable being left alone for up to 2 1/2 hours<br/>- Is comfortable wearing a muzzle when needed<br/>- Sleeps peacefully on his dog bed without needing to be crated<br/><br/>Sterling is curious and enjoys exploring, sometimes picking things up to carry around. His foster family is working on his “leave it” command, and he’s doing pretty well!<br/><br/>Life with Other Dogs<br/>Sterling gets along well with his fur sister and is beginning to enjoy playing chase with her. He would likely enjoy having another dog in his forever home, particularly one who isn’t overly interested in his toys.<br/><br/>He has not yet been around cats or children.<br/><br/>Sterling’s Ideal Home<br/>Sterling would love a home where someone enjoys spending time with him and being his companion. While he does well when left alone, he would especially enjoy having someone home with him.
