Steph's Story
Hi, I'm Steph! I am a 6 month old, neutered male, Shepherd mix who currently weighs around 33 pounds, but will be 60-70 pounds as an adult. I am a rambunctious young fellow who loves to run around the play yard here at the shelter. I am looking for a very experienced adopter, who will help me work on my manners- especially my impulse control. When I see something I want, I can be very persistent to get it! I'd do best in a household with no smaller animals, as I tend to want to herd them, which could be stressful for the little guys. I have also known to be vocal when I want something- again, with more training and overall socialization, I can learn to be more patient. I would do best in a home with kids over the age of 8 and with folks who have had large breed experience before. If I sound like I could be the best new pup for you, bring the entire household- including any resident dogs, to meet me Steph ID#A0981148.
I recently spent time with on of my PHS friends! Here's how I did:
I think Steph is growing up to be a pretty swell young guy. He’s playful, affectionate, and respectful in the yard. He walks nicely on leash. He seems like he’s always looking to do the right thing - checking in with me and offering sits. He’s confident, people-oriented, and trainable. I think he would make a great partner for a dog sport like agility.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!
To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor. Emails will be returned as soon as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours during busy adoption periods like weekends.
