Stella Parton's Story

But things are starting to look up since CCR welcomed me in!”

I’m a 9-year-old Yorkie girl who may be tiny at a mere 8 pounds, but I have the activity level and enthusiasm of a puppy – in spurts of course! I have a serious case of FOMO — if something is happening, I absolutely need to know about it. I’m curious, confident, and determined to investigate everything around me. Maybe I’m just getting used to my new environment, but my fosters have a feeling I’m going to be very good at keeping tabs on my people! By the way, standard stairs are quite a climb for me, but I navigate them like a boss - I'm not sure why my fosters giggle watching me from behind?!?!

My foster mom says I walk really well on a leash, and I’m already showing some promising house manners. In fact, I pee immediately when I see grass, so she’s hopeful that I’m already housebroken. Fingers crossed! I do have a voice and will let you know when I have an opinion - especially when I hear an unusual noise, my foster siblings start barking or - can you believe - my foster humans have the nerve to put me in my play area while they leave the room! Did I say FOMO? Clearly, I have important things to say. And really, can you blame me? A girl needs to keep her family informed!

I also have a very good appetite and have settled right in at my foster home. I’m not intimidated by my foster siblings, even when they’re twice my size. I know, I know, at 8lbs, it's very relative! But I have confidence to spare, and I’m happy to coexist with the “big” dogs.

There is one very important thing you should know about me. I came into rescue with my 4-year-old daughter, Zinnia, and we have never spent a day apart. My foster mom thinks I'm ready to see her leave the nest but little Zinni is much more anxious than I am so she may still need her mama in our forever home. So, while I may be ready to spread my little wings, my foster mom is listening carefully to what Zinni needs, too. We’re hoping to find a forever home that has room in its heart for both of us if that’s what Zinni needs to feel safe and happy. If you watched us curled up while we sleep, you would want ten of us! We are seriously tipping the cute scale!

I have one more important appointment coming up. I'm going to the vet on 9/8 to be spayed - I'm not scared - I'm tough and I already know my fosters will take exceptional care of me! After that, Zinni and I are ready to come home to you!

With doggie love,
Stelly Belly
