Stella's Story

Meet Stella! Stella is an 11-year-old, 5.1 lb Yorkie girl being fostered in Fort Payne, AL.
Some dogs arrive in rescue wagging their tails. Others arrive simply hoping for a second chance. Sweet Stella is one of those special little souls. Stella was found wandering as a stray in pretty rough shape. Sadly, she landed in the shelter with no microchip and no identification.

Since then Stella is settling into her foster home. Stella is progressing nicely, and we couldnt be happier with her progress! Today she gets to take her last dose of medicine, and boy is she happy! No more icky syringes!
Stella is eating better and has actually gained some weight—shes now over 6 pounds! Were so proud of this little girl.
Its becoming very clear that Stella is a true lap dog. She loves nothing more than being close to her human and soaking up all the love and attention she can get. She doesnt particularly like being left home alone on a regular basis. She may bark when you first leave, but before long she settles into her bed and goes to sleep. That is actually the only time Stella has been known to bark!
She gets along wonderfully with both big and little dogs and absolutely loves spending time out in the yard, exploring and enjoying the sunshine.
In two weeks, Stella is scheduled for her much-needed dental and possible spay. Until then, well continue working on helping her gain a little more weight and practicing her house manners.
This sweet little girl has come such a long way, and were so excited to see what the future holds for her.
