Stella's Story

Stella and her puppies have officially become Northerners, and now it's Stella's turn to find the family she deserves.

I knew she was adorable from the photos, but nothing could have prepared me for the dog that stepped out of the transport van. I became completely smitten within minutes.

Stella is still very much a puppy herself, probably no more than a year to a year and a half old. She has the most unique coat—super soft with an almost wiry look to it—beautiful doe eyes, and a face that stops people in their tracks. Pictures don't even come close to capturing how stunning she is.

But as beautiful as she is on the outside, it's her heart that truly steals the show.

Today, I took Stella with me for a little adventure to see how she'd do in public. First, we had an early dinner on the patio at one of my favorite restaurants. Every single person who walked by stopped to admire her. She was definitely hopeful someone might share a bite of dinner with her (who could blame her?), but she was incredibly well behaved. After watching the world go by for a bit, she simply laid down at my feet and drifted off for a nap.

As we were getting ready to leave, a group of ladies from a nearby table came over to meet her. One woman made a beeline straight for Stella saying, "I have to pet her." Watching the two of them together was something special. Stella absolutely melted into her, and the feeling was clearly mutual. The woman told me she travels too much to adopt right now, but she's seriously considering fostering Stella. We're keeping our fingers crossed because they shared an instant connection.

Later, we met a friend for a glass of wine at a restaurant inside the casino—a much noisier, busier environment. Stella took it all in stride. She quietly laid at my feet while we talked, completely relaxed despite all the activity around her. Once again, person after person stopped to meet her, and every one of them walked away smiling.

Stella has that rare quality you can't teach. She loves people with her whole heart, settles beautifully wherever you take her, and has the sweetest, gentlest soul. She doesn't demand attention—she simply attracts it. People are drawn to her, and within seconds, they're in love.

She's done an incredible job raising her babies. Now it's finally Stella's turn to be someone's baby.

If you're looking for a companion who will happily join you for dinner on a patio, outings with friends, road trips, or quiet evenings at home, Stella may just be your perfect match. I truly can't say enough about this remarkable little girl.

Some dogs are beautiful.

Stella is unforgettable.

To apply, head to www.Barking-Back.org
