Stella's Story
Meet Stella, a beautiful 2-year-old girl with a huge heart and an incredible story of survival. Despite everything she’s been through, she is loving, gentle, and ready to find a family who will truly see how special she isâ¤ï ̧

Stella was rescued from an abandoned home after squatters were forced out and simply left her behind. When she was found, she was extremely thin and had been eating carpet padding and drywall just to survive. Because of that past, she can be food reactive with other dogs, so she just needs to eat in her kennel where she feels safe and doesn’t feel the need to defend her food. Treats around other dogs are totally fine.

This sweet girl even went on a trial adoption this weekend, but heartbreakingly she was brought back today because the adopter said he “couldn’t adopt a broken dog.”

But the truth is... Stella isn’t broken. She’s a survivor.

✠̈ About Stella:
• Approximately 2 years old
• Deaf (or partially deaf) but responds beautifully to hand signals
• Has a unique left eye that didn’t fully develop (vision in that eye is uncertain)
• Amazing with kids
• Wonderful with dogs of all ages and sizes
• Potty trained and kennel trained
• Knows sit with a hand signal
• Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped
She will come with her kennel, toys, leash, and collar.

Cats are a bit iffy, mainly because Stella doesn’t quite understand them and they tend to react to her first.

Right now Stella is boarded at work, but the longer she stays there the more she may need refreshers on things like potty training. What she truly needs is a loving foster or forever home where she can decompress and be part of a family again.
After everything she’s survived, Stella deserves a soft place to land and people who will love her exactly as she is.

Because Stella was never broken...
she just hasn’t met the right humans yetâ¤ï ̧

If you can foster or adopt Stella, please reach out. Let’s help this girl finally get the life she deserves
