Later that night, at her foster’s home, she delivered a third baby who was tragically stillborn. Through it all, Stella remained gentle… and heartbreakingly weak. She still needs to gain weight, and she’s still learning that humans can be safe. But once you earn her heart… wow. You feel it. Stella loves with her whole soul. She’s gentle, easy-going, and a total cuddle bug who just wants what she has always deserved: love, softness, and a forever family that sees her worth.

She arrived in Toronto withe her puppies, Randy and Judy, who are thriving as well and also looking for their furever families!

Personality

Stella is a gentle, quiet, and sweet-natured girl with a big heart. She is shy and reserved at first, especially in new environments or around new people, but with patience, calm energy, and a few treats, she warms up quickly. Once she feels safe, Stella is incredibly affectionate and cuddly, happiest when she’s close to the person she trusts. She’s low-key, rarely vocal, and prefers a peaceful, predictable routine.

Ideal Home

Stella would thrive in a calm, quiet household with minimal noise and commotion. A suburban or rural home in a low-traffic area would suit her best, and a fenced yard would help her feel more secure while building confidence outdoors. She’s well-suited to a solo adopter or a couple who enjoys a relaxed lifestyle. While she could live with children or other pets, introductions would need to be slow and gentle, as sudden movements and loud sounds can be overwhelming for her.

Training & Activity

Stella is house-trained and does well when left alone, happily resting or sleeping throughout the day. She knows come and leave it and is currently working on sit, loose-leash walking, and confidence outdoors. Walks are kept short and positive while she adjusts to city sounds, and puzzle toys are a favorite way to keep her mentally engaged. With patience, consistency, and reassurance, Stella will continue to grow more confident and comfortable in her surroundings.

Summary

Stella is a sweet, gentle 2-year-old girl with a quiet nature and a big heart. Shy at first, she blossoms with patience, calm energy, and treats, becoming an incredibly cuddly and loyal companion. She’s happiest in a peaceful home where she can feel safe and loved while continuing to build her confidence at her own pace and is looking for a family who will continue to support her and understand her as she grows!

**NOTE** All adoption applicants must be residents of Ontario, Canada to be considered.

Apply here to Adopt
http://seapawsrescue.org/adoptionApplication.html

Sea Paws Rescue's Adoption Policy
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. All adult members of the household must attend the adoption interview. We prefer that applicants have lived at their current address for at least three months. This is to make sure that owners have had time to settle into their new surroundings, and provides stability for the new pup who themselves have already undergone multiple changes in a short time. Because young puppies require intensive training and care, we do not place puppies younger than 8 weeks of age in a home. Because of potential behavior/training concerns, we are very cautious when placing young pets in homes with children under the age of five. If applicants have another animal at home, they must introduce the animals properly. We want to make sure that their animal is happy with their selection and that the transition for both animals' will be relatively smooth. All adopters must take the animal to a veterinarian within one week of adoption as Sea Paws Rescue (SPR) does not screen for all diseases including, but not limited to, tick fever and heartworm. All further examinations and immunizations from the date of the adoption are at the adopter’s own expense. SPR makes no health guarantees or warranties. All adopters must understand that there will be an adjustment period and their pet may experience behavioural and/or health issues related to the change in environment. Adopters must seek professional assistance from a trainer and/or licensed veterinarian if they have concerns about issues related to the adjustment period. If at any time, for any reason, a SPR adopter decides not to keep their animal, they agree to return the animal back to a Sea Paws Rescue representative. Under no circumstance will the adopter surrender a SPR animal to a local shelter. In the event of a rehoming, no part of the adoption fee will be reimbursed.
