Meet Stella

Stella is a 7-year-old (born 9/18/14), 40 lb mixed breed. She’s DNA tested half Jack Russell, 2/3 Australian Cattle Dog, and 1/6 Australian Shepherd, though she’s most like the ACD side. Stella is affectionate, friendly, and absolutely adores children. She is well housetrained, crate trained, doesn’t pull on leash, and knows 30+ commands. Stella is even an AKC Novice Trick Dog! Her favorite activity is chasing frisbees and she also loves learning or practicing tricks. In the summertime she loves playing in sprinklers and she hilariously goes crazy for vegetables. She is cuddly and enjoys snuggling on the couch and in bed. If she sees a hairbrush she will sidle up to you “asking” to be brushed, and will roll over for belly rubs to anyone she thinks might give in! Despite her being a mix of “high energy” dogs, Stella is satisfied with about two 15-minute walks a day and loves a romp chasing the frisbee. If you let her get away with it, she will bark a lot, but she has a bark collar and enforced rules curtail this. She takes oral medication like a champ and any vets or boarding kennel staff have raved about how sweet and good she is.
Stella must be the only pet in the home, and cannot visit with or play with other animals elsewhere. She does not get along with other dogs, can be selectively dog reactive on leash, and she has a high prey drive to cats and other small animals. She has treatable allergies and is on Proin and some cream twice a day for mild urinary issues. The ideal home for Stella would be someone with dog experience who has a fenced in yard and no other pets. She would be happy to live with a single person, couple, or family with children. When adopted, Stella will come with a number of supplies and I’m willing to travel to meet people if you may be the right fit. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
If you want a beautiful lovebug of a dog who will stop and say hello to children in the park, impress your friends with tricks, and happily eat kale you drop on the floor while cooking dinner, Stella may be your girl!
