Star's Story

Meet Star

Star's story began with heartbreak - her former "family" tried to throw her off a bridge. She was found emaciated, heartworm positive, and still wagging her tail at the shelter staff who saved her.

Today, she's a healthy, hilarious, and deeply cuddly foster pup who wants nothing more than a spot on the couch and the chance to explore her world with confidence. She's officially finished her heartworm treatment, has completed her spay, and is finally cleared to run, romp, and keep growing.

Now that she's feeling better, we're seeing some beautiful shifts in her behavior:

She's opening her trust circle even more with familiar people she's met safely a few times.

She's starting to offer tail wags from a distance to new people - a huge deal for her.

She's able to peacefully coexist in the same room with her foster brother, Wally, during structured on-leash hangouts. And now that she's fully cleared, we're excited to slowly build toward more meaningful dog interactions with him and others.

At home, she's still the same polite, crate/house-trained snuggle bug. She settles beautifully in her crate or on her bed in her "kitchen apartment," rides like a pro in her car crate, and gets very excited for new adventures - especially now that she can actually go on them.

With her newfound energy, she's enjoying:

Carefully expanded walks

Exploring trails

Practicing being around groups of people

Play sessions and enrichment that help her confidence bloom

Each outing builds her trust a little more. She's discovering that the world isn't scary - especially when she has a calm, steady person guiding her.

Star is looking for:
An adult-only, pet-free home
A calm environment (rural/suburban preferred)
An adopter excited to continue her training and confidence-building
People who will grow her world, not shrink it

Our rescue will sponsor handoff sessions with her current trainer to ensure her progress continues seamlessly.

Fiercely loyal, deeply goofy, and absolutely ready for her next chapter...
