Star's Story

Meet Me - I'm Star!

Hi there! My name is Star - like a shooting star! That's because the night I crawled up a kind family's driveway in rural Missouri looking for help, they looked up and saw one streak across the sky. They said it was fate - and that's how I got my name.

I'm a 4-5-year-old, 43-pound bundle of sweetness, fun, and snuggles. I live with my foster family right now, along with some other dogs who have become my best friends. I love to play, share toys (okay, I really love whatever toy another dog has), lounge on my favorite spot - the sofa, and explore the yard. If you have another playful pup, that's perfect! I'd thrive with a buddy who enjoys having fun as much as I do.

I'm a very good girl! I don't shed, I am crate trained, and learning my leash manners. I get super excited for walks - they're my favorite part of the day! Once I settle in, I walk pretty nicely and love exploring the world with you. A fenced yard and daily walks would help me stay happy and balanced. I am also very chatty! I've got lots to say, being a beagle mix, so an apartment might not be the best place for me.

I know how to sit (especially for treats!) and come when you call "Star, come on!" I'm smart, curious, and sometimes a bit stubborn - I like to think for myself. But I catch on quickly and really want to please.

I'm great with other dogs and older kids, though I might accidentally bump into smaller ones because I don't always realize how big I am. I'm never mean or aggressive - I just really like snacks, and sometimes I think your food should be our food.

At night, I sleep in my cozy bed near my foster mom and foster sisters, and I feel safe knowing they are close by. I've been through some tough times before, but I'm learning every day that people can be kind and that I can trust them. My foster family says I have the biggest heart - that I'm affectionate, goofy, and loving despite everything I've been through.

Star's adoption fee is $175. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and current on preventatives for heartworm/flea/tick.

APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org

If you're looking for a loyal friend who will fill your home with warmth, laughter, and love, look up - your Star might just have found you.

Pawsitive Tails is dedicated to matching the needs and personality of our dogs with your family. We are not in a hurry to adopt out our dogs; we want to make sure the match is perfect for everyone. All of the dogs in our rescue live in foster homes with both the human and furry members of our families. Our adoption process begins with an application which can be found under the "adopt" tab on our website, www.pawsitivetailskc.org. Please complete the form in full; the questions we ask help us to fully understand what type of dog you are looking for, and to make sure you get the very best fit. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you do not include a vet phone number, a landlord phone number (if applicable), or 3 complete references, we cannot process your application. We will contact your Veterinarian, so please make sure to call them to release your vet history to our volunteer. &nbs
