Star's Story
STAR IS READY TO SHINE IN HER FOREVER HOME!

Meet Star—a beautiful 5 1/2-year-old Husky who is hoping her next chapter is the one that lasts forever.

Star is the kind of girl who knows what she likes. She is independent, loyal, house-trained, and wonderfully well-behaved. She doesn't need to be the center of attention every second of the day—she simply wants to know that her people are nearby and that she has a safe, loving place to call home.

Since arriving at the shelter, Star has been a little unsure of people she doesn't know. And honestly... can you blame her? The shelter can be a pretty overwhelming place. She may be nervous and cautious when you first meet her, but give this girl a little time, patience, and affection, and you'll start to see her walls come down.

Once Star feels comfortable with you, you'll discover the loyal and loving girl underneath that initial uncertainty.

And yes... she is a Husky, so that means she's got plenty of personality! She may have her own opinions, her own way of doing things, and that unmistakable Husky charm that makes you laugh even when she's being a little sassy.

What makes Star special?
512 years young
House-trained
Loyal to her people
Independent but loves having her people around
Well-behaved
Warms up beautifully with time and affection
Needs to be the only pet in the home or with another well mannered dog that is her size or larger

Star isn't looking for a house full of chaos. She's looking for her people—the ones who will give her the time she needs to feel safe, appreciate her independent personality, and love her for exactly who she is.

Imagine coming home after a long day and having your beautiful Husky waiting for you. Imagine earning her trust and watching that nervous girl turn into your loyal companion. Imagine knowing that you were the person who gave Star her forever.

Star will be ready for adoption Wednesday the 19th

Interested in meeting Star?
Start by filling out our dog adoption application:
https://northwoodshumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-form/

Already approved?
