Stan and Dave's Story

Stan and Dave – 9 yr old male Westies, littermates and bonded brothers, currently in foster care getting all the love and Vet care. This bonded pair need to stay together. Super sweet and happy brothers. House trained, leash trained, will snooze with you at night. Totally voice trained, will jump in to their beds or crate on command. They love to snooze with humans reading and sleeping too!

Stan came in with a skin infection that is now under control. Just needs a bath a twice per week and a few pills.

Stan says: “My fur has grown thick and completely covered my cute little body. My brother and I are super sweet and total love bugs. I sit on your lap and Dave lays next to you, belly up as you rub. You see my brother is an attention hog. If you stop rubbing him, he will get up and tell you to restart the rubs. I take any needed pills easily. All you do is drop them in my food and I eat everything in my bowl, simple.

We sleep in our beds while you work and we are both very quiet boys who just need a second chance at a new life.

We like other dogs except bossy ones. My brother barks and pulls to meet humans to say “hello”. He is such pain but he is warm at night, so we sleep close together in our big crate or in your bed. We like the bed best as we are sleeping with Uncle Stephen each night and we get body rubs in the morning to get the sleep kinks out and get the blood circulating. I do love my body rubs and Dave likes his tummy rubs.

We are ready to start a new life, so call now if you like to have a bonded pair of brothers who love each other and you too.”

Dave says: Hey you need me too! We come as a bonded pair as I worry about my skinny brother especially when he gets baths. I however, have a great coat and an extra-large tummy that need petting every time we sit on the couch together. We love people, other dogs (except bossy ones) and kids. I will pull you to meet humans and other dogs. Every day is a new adventure! Uncle Stephen says I am a clown of the two but that is just me. I want to be close as I love human attention.

We sleep in our beds during the day and we are very quiet unless there is a squirrel outside the door. We are get squirrel hunters so if you have an infestation of those pesty tree rats we are the solution!

Westie Rescue Note: Stan is on our 100th day of Westie skin treatment and has grown back his coat 90%. He shows steady improvement daily. Currently he is on a few meds and every other day shampoos. The baths extend to every 3nd day then weekly, etc, as he continues improving. The skin and coat treatment extends out on a 30-60-90-120 day set of steps. Westie Rescue has treated hundreds of Westies with skin issues with our wonderful Vets. Westie Rescue of the MidAtlantic States Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Westie Rescues all over the USA are seeking homes that have the terrier experience that will allow a rescued Westie grow into your best buddy. Owners need to understand that many of these dogs are happy friendly pets who have found themselves in the wrong home at the wrong time. Reasons for give ups range from death, divorce, child/dog conflicts, Armed service moves to conflict areas, health of the humans and declining health of the Westie him/herself, so we are seeking new owners who have the patience, mindset, resources, and understanding that this match is for the life of both of you. If you are a senior what are YOUR plans for your eventual decline? If you are in your 20's what is your plan when kids come along and the two don't fit? Email anytime and we can discuss all things Westie, and who is seeking a new home might be a good fit for your home!
