Squirley's Story
Meet, Squirley!
(30 lbs.)

At just 1 year old, Squirely has already overcome more than any dog ever should. He was impounded at animal control and spent 8 long months, waiting for his chance at a better life. Now, that chance has finally arrived-and Squirely is ready to find the loving family he's always deserved.

Despite his difficult past, Squirely is an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who is learning every day that the world can be a safe place. He loves to cuddle and has made amazing progress with his confidence. His social skills have improved tremendously, and he enjoys spending time with other dogs. He shares his space, meals, and toys with his buddies Franklin and Flip, and the three can often be found eating, playing, and even sleeping together. Like many young dogs, he occasionally gets a little overexcited, but he's learning appropriate dog manners and responds well when his friends set boundaries.

His foster has been introducing Squirely to new adventures, and he's taking them all in stride. He recently visited the beach and did wonderfully, happily exploring the sand and soaking up the experience. Every new outing helps him grow a little braver.

Squirely still carries some scars from his past. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle him, and he can be vocal when he's unsure of something. With patience, consistency, and reassurance, he's making steady progress and continues to blossom into a more confident dog every day.

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and are willing to give him the time and love he needs to continue building his confidence, Squirely will reward you with endless affection and unwavering devotion. Watching this special boy discover how wonderful life can be is truly something magical.

Squirley is available to adopt through Action 4 Animals Hawaii.
