Squiggy's Story
Squiggy is looking for a home!

We cannot believe that Squiggy is still here. We take in a lot of beagles and Squiggy is one of the cutest little guys we have had here. He is young, adorable, healthy, and loves people. What's not to like?

Squiggy is a lovable little 2-year old beagle who wants to be loved. He wants to be with you wherever you are. He warmed up to his foster parents pretty quickly, and also warmed up to the other foster dog in the home. Once he gets to know you his tail wags non-stop. He loves to snuggle on the couch with his foster dad.

He has lived with other dogs and got along with them, but he would do fine in a home as the only dog. He really just wants to be with his people.

Squiggy was a hunting dog who probably was not a good hunter. He is not used to loud noises like traffic, garbage trucks, construction, etc. but he is getting better. He does OK on the leash but is a little fearful of being outside because of the noises so he needs secure leashing. He isn't 100% housebroken yet, partly due to his fear of the noises outside, but he can go overnight or for hours without a bathroom break. He will go out to do his business when he is ready. So far only one accident.

Squiggy gained a lot of weight at the shelter, so he will need to lose some weight. We have started working with him, but whoever adopts him will need to continue to work on the weight loss. He is healthy, vaccinated, and HW negative.

He will be a great pet for someone he can give all his love to.

He is located in Williamsburg, Va.

For an application go to www.homesfurhounds.org
