Meet Spud: the best worst puppy ever.<br/><br/>Worst because… there are genuinely no thoughts behind those eyes. Spud wakes up every morning ready to sprint directly into life headfirst with nothing but optimism and vibes guiding him. Every day is rainbows, sunshine, and complete chaos.<br/><br/>Best because despite all of that, he’s actually a pretty clean and well-behaved little guy. His foster says he’s doing great with house training and keeps his kennel clean too, which honestly feels shocking considering the level of nonsense constantly happening in his brain.<br/><br/>Spud is 7 months old, extremely people friendly, and very dog friendly. He loves to play, bounce around with other dogs, and make every person he meets his new best friend. He approaches life with the confidence of a dog who has never once had a single bad day.

Henry County Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
A few friendly reminders: We are an open intake facility meaning we are unable to hold any pets due to space so if there is a specific pet and a date you plan on visiting, please let us know so we can update you should the animal get adopted prior to your visit! If the pet is not spayed/neutered at adoption it will be the adopter's responsibility to have the pet sterilized within 30 days of the adoption per VA State Code and signed contract if you live in Henry County. If you live out of our jurisdiction, we will have the animal spayed/neutered for you for an additional cost. Our adoption fees listed reflect the final cost of adoption after having the pet altered. We do require a meet and greet for those who have a multi-dog home. Adoption fees: Dogs $40/ Cats $20/ Puppies (1 year and younger) $80 with an approved application for unaltered pets.
