Spud's Story

Don't let the name fool you - this little brown, curly-coated cutie has a lot of heart. Spud came to Mountain Humane with a group of nine under-socialized poodle-mix pups, and in the chaos of the crew, he was often the one hanging back while his littermates tumbled over each other up front.
Spud is cautious around new people and dogs, but there's a spark in him that's hard to miss. Spot him from across the yard and you just might catch the zoomies and full-body wiggles he saves for people he's curious about - he wants to connect, he just needs time to work up the courage. And every day, he's getting braver.

Spud would do best in a home that:
- Is calm, quiet, and low-traffic
- Has patience for a dog who moves at his own pace
- Uses gentle, positive reinforcement techniques

Spud may have started out in the back of the pack - but in the right home, he'll find his way to the front.
