Meet Spud
Hey everyone! My name is Spud and I'm an 8 year old, 13lbs Chihuahua.
- I was brought into the emergency room after getting hit by a car and was going to be euthanized until one of the vet tech's saw me and introduced me to the HIT Living Foundation. I was completely paralyzed from the waist down, and with the help of incredible vets, a very generous medical sponsor and my wonderful foster mama, I was able to regain full mobility in my legs!!!
- That being said, I will need daily leg stretches done by my adopter for about 10mins a day, to make sure I maintain full mobility in my legs. I will also still need some help peeing which will get better with time according to the vet.
- Other then that, I can now run, jump, walk, and climb small heights like stairs without any issues! :D
- I am a happy little gentleman. I am very alert and curious but also a little couch potato.
- Even though I am very independent and enjoy to be on my own bed, I also LOVE cuddles. Especially, ear scratches!!
- My favorite things to do are sun bathing, playing with chew toys (so much so that I like to chew them until they are destroyed...oops), and ear scratches of course!
- I am veryyyy low maintenance. Give me a chew toy and I'll be good for the rest of the day. I am generally low on the energy scale, but definitely love the outdoors and my short walks.
- In my foster home I live with 3 dogs and 2 cats. I was a little cautious and not so sure about the cats for the first couple of days but now I love playing with them. I am great with everyone, and might just take a couple of minutes to warm up to new people :)
If you see me online I am still available for adoption! If you are interested in adopting me please fill out an application here: www.hitlivingfoundation.org/adoption-application, and email a video walkthrough of your home and yard to HIT-adoptions@googlegroups.com. Your application will not be counted as valid without your video. You will hear back from us within a few days.
