Spud's Story

Spud is an owner surrender from eastern Kentucky. His family loved him very much but the neighbor and the neighbor's dog, not so much, so his family made the tough decision to reach out for rescue help to keep him safe. Spud is about 4 years old, formerly lived with a Chihuahua and a cat, he only bothers the cat when it is eating because he wants the food, loves adults and children, LOVES to ride on the side by side, loves the trash man, will chase deer, he has only ever growled at one person (it was a man who had been drinking a lot!), he thinks he is a lap dog, and loves to be on the furniture. He is listens well and is very well-behaved in the house and housebroken as long as he is let out every 4 hours or so.9/12 UPDATE: This ADORABLE boy made his way to his Iowa foster home last weekend and he is doing amazing. From his foster mom:<br/>Spud is the most wonderful dog! We are getting to know him and he is such a gentle giant. Right now he loves to follow my husband around the house, garage and yard. He’s up for some zoomies in the big yard a couple times a day and the rest of the time he is out, he’s chill to nap around whatever room we are in. He hates his crate and barks for 10 minutes and cries whenever you force him into it, but that is to be expected. Other than jumping on us when he is really excited and an occasional marking (boys!) in the house, he is a delight!
