Spot 's Story

Spot came to us as a surrender from the last spay & neuter clinic on Northern Cheyenne. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
He was the victim of a car strike months ago & never saw a vet for care. 😧⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Of course we couldn't have the good boy in pain any longer, so we got him straight to our vets the morning after the clinic to assess the extent of his injuries. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
As you can see from the radiographs, it was not a pretty injury. ⁣And someone also shot this poor boy as is evident from the pellets in the x-rays. :-(⁣
⁣⁣
Our vets conferred & determined it was not the best course of action to amputate the affected limb. So he went immediately into surgery for repair. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The absolutely AMAZING team at Bridger Veterinary Specialists & Emergency took the incredible care of our best boy Spot! An external fixator was placed to support the break. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We had never seen an external skeletal fixator in action & my goodness are they neat! ⁣⁣

---
⁣⁣
🐾 Spot LOVES his humans! Sharing cuddles, snacks & adventures are big on his highest value list. Spot does well with humans of any size & age, just so long as they're nice to him. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💙 The good boy is fully house trained!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🐾 He is fond of car rides. You can take him anywhere with you. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💙 Spot is great off lead! His recall could use some work with epic sniffs, but he never goes far. He just loves to be with his people. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🐾 Spot gets along well with most dogs, but can be grumpy with other dominate, adult males. This is a common attribute for adult dogs on the rez that haven't been altered till later in life. He would do best in a home with no prey animals as well as he does show some interest in chickens & cats. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
All in all, Spot is SO fun. He has personality for days, is very engaged with his family, is highly intelligent & basically an easy keeper all around. And he's too cute to boot! Like we said, some family will be lucky to make him theirs. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
He's around 2 years old + fully vetted + micro-chipped + so very fun! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you'd like to meet Spot, please fill out an application @ PrairieSongRescue.org
⁣⁣
