Spot's Story

Spot might just be your perfect fit!

Spot is an 11-month-old presumed Border Collie mix who weighs about 35 pounds, making him that ideal in-between size—not too big and not too small. As he’s nearing adulthood, we do not expect him to grow much more, so he should remain a great medium size.

Spot is a fun-loving and energetic young dog who would thrive with an active family. He would enjoy daily walks or runs, hiking adventures, toys to chew on, and playtime with dog friends. He could also do very well with activities like agility, frisbee, or dog daycare.

This sweet boy enjoys meeting both people and other dogs and is eager to make friends. Like many young dogs, exciting environments can sometimes make him a little enthusiastic, but he responds well to guidance and settles nicely.

When the activity winds down, Spot is happy to relax and cuddle with his people, whether that means lying by your side or curling up nearby.

Spot has met cats and young children and would very much like to be their friend. He is still learning how to stay calm around them, so continued training and supervision will help him succeed in a home with either.

Spot is a smart and eager-to-please dog who has already shown that he is very trainable. Continuing with obedience training would help him build a strong bond with his new family and set him up for long-term success.

If you think Spot might be a good fit for your home, please fill out an adoption application and contact drdoyledvm@gmail.com with questions or to arrange a meet-and-greet.
