He may start off shy, but once he trusts you, he becomes deeply devoted— offering soft kisses, quiet companionship, and endless cuddles. He has a beautiful balance of gentle affection and playful spirit, wrapped up in a small, soulful package.

Daily Routine
Spork is a gentle soul who thrives on a calm, predictable routine. His day starts with a quiet morning— he heads outside right after waking up, then comes back in for breakfast. He prefers a little moral support while eating, happily dining with his foster mom nearby. Afterward, he’s all about cozy couch time, settling in close for companionship.

Throughout the day, Spork has free access to the backyard and takes care of his potty needs independently. He’s currently learning leash skills and gets two to three short practice walks daily to build confidence. At night, he sleeps in the bedroom with his foster family, where he feels safest.

Personality & Progress
When Spork first arrived, he was very frightened and unsure of the world. Sudden movements would send him scurrying for cover, and he sought constant reassurance through being held. With time, patience, and kindness, he’s made beautiful progress.
He’s still a sensitive boy, but he now settles more quickly and is learning that he’s safe. Spork has strong “Velcro dog” tendencies— he forms a close bond and loves to stay near his person, happily curling up beside them whenever possible. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side truly shines.

Social Life
Spork lives with another small, easygoing dog and has done wonderfully. He showed polite curiosity at first, observing from a distance, and has recently blossomed into playful interactions. He enjoys games like tug-of-war and chase, and when he gets excited, he zooms across the yard with impressive speed.

Play Style & Energy
Though he has a shy side, Spork is far from a couch potato. He has a playful, energetic streak that emerges when he feels safe— especially during games in the yard. He also absolutely loves affection. Lap time, gentle pets, tummy rubs, and soft kisses are some of his favorite things.

One of his most endearing quirks: he often falls asleep with the tip of his tongue sticking out, like a tiny pacifier.

On Leash
Spork is still learning the ropes when it comes to walking on leash, but he’s making steady progress. He may feel unsure around new people or dogs on walks, but he remains quiet and non-reactive.

House Manners
Spork is housetrained and does very well with access to a yard. He has not needed a crate and behaves nicely when left alone, with no accidents reported.

Behavior Notes
Spork is a quiet companion. He may occasionally let out a soft growl at unfamiliar nighttime noises or a startled bark if someone enters unexpectedly, but he’s easily reassured with a calm voice or gentle redirection.
He enjoys sniffing around the yard (especially gopher holes) but doesn’t dig. He also doesn’t chew destructively—if he picks up something he shouldn’t, he’s happy to trade it for a toy. He has a particular fondness for toys with tags, especially his Lambchop.

A Little Extra
With his expressive eyes and velvety ears, Spork looks like he belongs on the big screen. If there were a heartfelt indie film about love, trust, and quiet bravery, he’d be the star.

If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow with a sensitive soul and a whole lot of love to give, Spork just might be your perfect match.
