Spooky's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spooky—so named because he was adopted around Halloween—is a two-year-old (as of May 2024) Chihuahua mix. At just 9 pounds, he’s the definition of a small dog with a big personality! When faced with something new, Spooky takes a moment to watch and learn before bravely conquering his fears—whether it’s stairs, walking on a leash in town, or even using the doggie door.
Spooky has adorable tan markings on a mostly white coat, along with a one-inch black ring around the middle of his tail and black highlights on his upright ears and face. His tail curls jauntily over his back, adding even more charm. This cutie also has a unique black, white, and pink nose, plus pink paw pads on all four feet!
He gets along wonderfully with cats, kids, dogs, men, and women—he truly loves everyone. Spooky is the perfect size to scoop up and take anywhere, but now that he’s learned to walk on a leash, he’s also happy to go for long walks with those little legs moving right along. He rides well in the car, is crate trained, and is making great progress with house training. He’s learning that potty time happens outside, and his recent neuter has helped speed up that learning process.
Spooky is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on monthly flea/heartworm preventatives. He’s ready to find a loving forever home. Spooky is currently being fostered and adored in Northumberland, PA.
If you’d like to be considered as Spooky’s forever family, please apply today through Haven to Home Canine Rescue.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet.
Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.
We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
Thank you!
