Spirit began showing up at a Love And Rescue volunteer's workplace many months ago. With plenty of yummy snacks and patience, we finally convinced her that we were there to help. Spirit had obviously been on her own for a very long time and was in bad shape. She had a skin infection, was malnourished, and heartworm positive. She is all healed physically and has come a long way emotionally with the love of her foster parents,s who describe her as "the weetest, most gentle dog you could ever hope to meet." Her confidence continues to grow with every positive interaction. She walks perfectly on her leash, gets along with all of her foster siblings, and cries with joy when her people come home. But the thing Spirit enjoys the most is a soft, comfy bed.
