Hi there! I'm Spike, and at my age I've earned the title of Distinguished Gentleman. I'll let you in on a little secret... My friends here say I'm a bit of a chunky monkey and could stand to lose a few pounds. The good news? I've already lost some weight, and I'm working hard on getting healthier one walk at a time! I'm an easy-going fellow who loves getting out for strolls. I walk nicely on a leash and know some pretty impressive tricks for a senior guy: sit, shake, down, and I can probably still show off a spin or two! <br/>My favorite things in life include belly rubs, scratches anywhere and everywhere, comfy beds, relaxing with my people, and-most importantly-TREATS! If treats are involved, you definitely have my attention. <br/>I'm house trained, enjoy having a routine, and I'm happiest when I can simply be your loyal companion. I'm a friendly, happy boy who really wants to please the people I love. One thing to know about me: I do not like being picked up. Many dogs (and cats!) who are carrying some extra fluff feel uncomfortable being lifted, and I'm definitely one of them. I'd much rather keep all four paws on the ground. <br/>I'm hoping my retirement years includes a forever home filled with patience, love, belly rubs, and maybe a few healthy treats.
