Spike's Story

If you are looking to take home a dog who loves walks and has adorable ears, Spike could be your guy! Spike has found shelter life a bit stressful and would love to join a family for fun Fall adventures. He is working on his manners when greeting people, as sometimes he gets so excited he just has to jump up. He is food motivated and has responded well to rewards-based training sessions here at Gigi's. He already knows sit and hand targeting and would love to continue those training opportunities with his people. Spike has been able to greet other dogs and participated in a play date with an adolescent female - we're always happy to assist with introductions. Spike is a large mixed breed, approximately 3 years old and weighs 48.5 pounds. Spike has received his full-service vet care, vaccines, pre-adoption behavior support, microchip and will be neutered. To meet this dog or any of our other ready-for-adoption dogs, visit Gigi's during our open adoption hours listed on www.gigis.org. By adopting a Gigi's Grad, you are helping other shelter dogs in need get vital care and an opportunity to find a new family, just like yours--together we're improving the lives of shelter dogsTM. Gigi's offers Training and Puppy Classes, as well as Private Behavior sessions and Veterinary Behavioral options to help get families and their new furry family members off on the right paw!
