Spice's Story

Spice is looking for a foster or an adopter.

Spice is a sweet, playful companion who thrives on human connection. She is crate trained and house-broken and ready to settle into a home where she can be loved and included in daily life. Spice will be happy following you around, but, if you are too busy to give her attention, she will quietly settle down at your feet and wait patiently for you whether that is the kitchen floor, next to your computer desk, laundry room, or next to the garden bed. Spice has learned many basic commands and is now working on "up" to stand up to get treats and "drop" to drop whatever it is in her mouth since she likes to grab things off the ground, like leaves or acorns. Key points about Spice: -Loves people-enjoys cuddles, playtime, and being part of the family -Energetic and playful - full of joy, ready for games, walks, and interactive fun (and will get zoomies at times) -Strong and loyal - a dependable, affectionate companion who sticks by her people -Thrives in an engaging home but also enjoys quiet time to relax (will sneak off to her quiet base or crate for a mid-morning or afternoon snooze) -Enjoys crate time - leave the door open and she will go in on her own, it is her safe space -Needs slow and gradual introductions with cats and other dogs If Spice seems like the missing piece to your family, apply today!

Maryland Animal Rescue Foundation (MARF)'s Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are interviewed to ensure a good home will be provided for the dog. Veterinarians and references are contacted and home checks (typically virtually) are performed. We require homes to provide proper vet care and meet all of the needs of the dog. In addition, we make sure the dog is the right fit for the adopter as sometimes the dog they want may not be the right fit for their home and family.
