Hi, I'm Sparta! I'm about 2 years old and just over 40lb. I am a playful but smart girl who would do best in a home that can work on my quirks. I get frustrated in my kennel and don't show my best side in the shelter, but when I get outside I'm able to let my true personality shine. On group walks with lots of new people and new dogs, I am a pro at socializing. I love to splash around in the pool when it's warm enough too! I can be protective of things that have high value to me like toys and food, but I am working with the shelter behaviorist to manage this behavior. I’d do best in a home that has experience with dogs and can continue to work with me! I do well playing with dog friends, especially one on one playdates. Once my initial energy is out, I am really good with my leash manners. <br/><br/>I am heartworm positive, but don't let that stop you from adopting me! My heartworm treatment is covered through a grant Mutt Nation gives Friends of MACC. They provide the funding and appointments at Pet Community Center in Nashville; you provide the love and calm place to recover.<br/><br/>Sounds like a good match?
