As a senior dog, she's currently in the important decompression stage as she adjusts to a new environment.<br/><br/>When dogs enter a shelter or rescue, it can take days or even weeks for them to fully relax and show their true personality. New sounds, new people, new routines, and unfamiliar surroundings can feel overwhelming. During this time, it's completely normal for dogs to appear unsure, vocal, or more reserved than they might be in a home.<br/><br/>Sparta is already starting to show signs that she's settling in. While she can still be a bit barky as she processes her surroundings, she walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting outside. She's not a high-energy dog and would likely do best in a calm home that appreciates a more relaxed companion.<br/><br/>Right now, we're still learning about her preferences with other dogs.
