Soybean's Story

Fostered In: Chehalis, WA
Adoption Fee: $100
Vaccines: DAPP & Rabies
Spayed, Microchipped, Dewormed, Treated for Fleas
Link to apply: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CCLC/Dog

MEET SOYBEAN!

Soybean-lovingly known as "Beanie" by her fosters-is a tiny little soul with a big heart just waiting for the right person to help it shine. This approximately 10 lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix came to us as a transfer from another rescue when it became clear she needed a calmer, more patient foster environment to truly decompress. Since arriving in February, Beanie has shown us that while she may be shy and timid at first, she is incredibly sweet and capable of blossoming with time, consistency, and understanding. Though we don't know what her past looked like, it's clear she had very limited positive human interaction, so new environments can feel overwhelming. When unsure, she prefers to find a quiet hiding spot where she can observe the world around her at her own pace-but with gentle guidance, she slowly begins to feel safe.

Beanie absolutely thrives with other dogs and finds great comfort in their presence, whether they're big or small. She is crate trained and views her crate as her safe haven, happily retreating there when she needs a break. She walks beautifully on leash and does very well with potty habits when kept on a consistent schedule. She enjoys toys, loves chewing on bones, and is happiest curled up on the couch or a cozy dog bed alongside her doggy friends. In a new home, leaving a leash on her initially can be very helpful-this allows you to gently guide her for potty breaks, to her crate, or up onto the couch. Once she feels safe, she'll slowly inch closer for pets, and before long, you'll find her seeking out affection on her own, sometimes even climbing into your lap.

Soybean is looking for a special kind of home-one that is quiet, patient, and understanding. Another confident dog in the home is highly preferred, as it helps her feel secure and continue building confidence. Her future family should be prepared for a slower start, knowing that for the first few weeks she may simply observe rather than interact. She does not enjoy being picked up, but she is comfortable being guided on leash and will choose closeness when she's ready. While she may not be the outgoing, social dog many people expect, Beanie offers something truly special-the chance to watch a shy dog learn to trust, open up, and form a deep, meaningful bond.

Soybean's adoption fee has been partially sponsored and is just $100. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She is ready to find a forever home that will meet her exactly where she is and show her nothing but patience, kindness, and love as she continues her journey. If you think you might be the right fit for this very special girl, please submit an application and we will set up a time to meet: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CCLC/Dog
