Sora's Story
My name is Sora and Im looking for my forever home. Im a young girl Ill be 2 at the end of December and I weigh 20 lbs. Ive got lots of energy and love to play. Im friendly and affectionate and will sit in foster moms lap for tummy rubs. I came to my foster home here in Joliet, IL, from a commercial breeding facility, and I have learned so much here! Foster mom says Im smart and curious. I learned to sit for treats the very first day and Im a pro at stairs. Im a good girl in the house - no potty accidents at all! Foster mom doesnt crate me when she goes to work and I don't get into mischief... except that one time when I chewed her reading glasses. Oops! I love going for walks and will pull on the leash to get where I want to go. I get the zoomies in the fenced yard and play keep-away from foster mom. Id love to have another energetic dog to play with in my forever home. There are two older Shibas here and sometimes foster mom has to tell me to knock it off when I play too hard. I havent met any cats here, but I really want to chase after squirrels and birds outside, so I probably wouldnt be a good match with cats or small pets. There arent any kids here, so I dont know what Id think about them, but my high energy level might be a bit much for little ones. My perfect forever home will need to be careful to prevent escapes. I keep my eye on the door to go outside and Ive got springs in my leg and can jump a 3-foot puppy gate like its nothing. I sometimes bark when I see the neighbors outside, so if you live in a condo or apartment with shared walls, I may make my presence known. Im a healthy girl spayed and vaccinated. I have a very small umbilical hernia, but the vet says its no problem at all. If you live in the Midwest and want a smart, spunky, fun and sweet little girlie like me to be your walking buddy, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt for more information and to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn about you and your home environment so they can tell if well be a good match. Once approved, theyll introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet.
