All the animals that come to the rescue have been abused, abandoned or neglected. Most come with large vet bills, the only means that we have to pay our bills, food, treats, bedding, toys...supplies are by your financial donations! Or you can call and ask for Dianne @ 301-478-3300.<br/><br/>***Why is this beautiful girl here?<br/>Sophie is a beautiful tan & black saddle German Shepherd puppy, approximately 8 months old, {DOB: Sept. 1, 2025+/-}. She is waiting for her spay, vaccinate, worming & microchip Vet appointment. Sophie was brought to The Ark of Hope Rescue after her mom and dad decided to move but couldn't find a new place that would allow Sophie to come too! So when they moved out, they left her in the rental home in her dog crate! They called a friend of theirs and told him that Sophie had been left in her crate, he immediately drove there and took her, knowing that he was going to get his own prison K9 within a few days and she couldn't be there when the new dog came. The prison officer called and asked if we here at The Ark of Hope would accept her. She was here within the hour. She has been around other dogs and children and gets along great! She plays with two other dogs here at The Ark; Pepper and Bella, they play outside in the fenced yard together like they knew each other since birth. It would be fantastic if we could find a wonderful home with a fenced yard that would adopt Sophie, giving her exactly what she deserves, a wonderful life filled with love and with people that she can learn to trust and feel safe with again. We believe if we could find her the perfect patient family/person/home she'd make a great addition to the right family. She needs a family to love her, a family that she will learn and she would love in return! Sophie is an amazing pup that deserves a wonderful ending to an extremely sad and heart-breaking life so far.<br/>If you may be that person or that family, please follow the directions above in the second paragraph and let's make a meet and greet date!
