Sophie's Story

Meet Sophie

Sophie is an approximately 1-year-old red heeler who brings together everything people love about the breed, loyalty, intelligence, and personality, with a more easygoing, companion-focused vibe.

She's incredibly sweet with people and truly enjoys being around her humans. Whether you're heading out for a walk or just spending time at home, Sophie wants to be right there with you.

She walks beautifully on a leash, is both house and crate trained, and already has the kind of foundation that makes bringing her home feel easy. She's also spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped so completely ready for her next chapter.

Sophie has done fantastic with most of the dogs she's met and enjoys playtime, especially if it includes a little roughhousing. She's got that fun, playful energy but isn't over-the-top.

She's also been around horses and has done well in her current environment. That said, we were told she may have chased livestock in the past, so any introductions to horses or other animals should be done thoughtfully and with guidance (especially in a rural home).

While Sophie likely isn't looking for a full-time working ranch job, she is looking for something to do. She'd thrive in a home that can give her outlets like agility, hiking, training games, or even something like nosework, something that engages both her body and her smart, curious mind.

What Sophie really wants is her person, someone who will include her in their life, keep her active, and appreciate just how special she is.

If you've been looking for a smart, loyal companion who's past the tiny puppy stage but still full of life and potential... Sophie might be exactly who you've been waiting for.

To adopt Sophie, please visit www.rezqdogs.org/adopt to fill out our adoption application.

RezQ Dogs's Adoption Policy
RezQ Dogs' Adoption Policy 1. All of the dogs (and cats) adopted from RezQ Dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, and microchipped prior to adoption. Many of the dogs also received additional veterinary care if needed. 2. RezQ Dogs houses its dogs in private foster homes and at our facility which is open by appointment only. We do require an approved application on file prior to scheduling a meet and greet with the dog. At that point, the adopters can take the dog home. 3. Adoption fees are as follows: $150 for dogs over 1 year of age $200 for puppies and dogs under 1 year of age $75 for cats 4. While RezQ Dogs does allow out of state adoptions, we do limit the distance between the potential adopters and our location in Dodson, MT, to within a 12 hour drive. 5. Due to our limited staff and volunteers, RezQ Dogs is unable to transport dogs to their forever homes or meet adopters part way. RezQ Dogs does not ship dogs via airlines or ground transportation. We ask the adopters to meet the dogs in person prior to adoption rather than having someone pick up the dog for them in order to ensure the right fit for both humans and dogs. 6. Please fill out our adoption application. You can fill out our online form HERE. Make sure your application is complete and all of the phone numbers are provided as INCOMPLETE applications will not be considered. You will not be contacted if any information on the application is missing. We simply lack the manpower and time to track down the information we ask for in the first place. 7. RezQ Dogs makes every effort to reply to adoption inquiries and process applications within 1 week of receiving them.
