Sophie's Story

Miss Sophie is ready to meet her new family!
This sweetie is not quite 11 months old, she is a great weight at 32 pounds, and she has the softest blue merle coat (and a little Aussie nub of a tail that never stops wiggling)! Sophie is housebroken and crate-trained, although during the day she bores easily in her crate and does best with chews and stuffed toys to play with. Sophie also knows some of her basic obedience commands. She is very food-motivated, so continuing her training will be fun! Sophie walks OK on a leash and rides beautifully in the car.
Sophie is a medium energy girl who loves to run around the yard, smelling EVERY bush and tree, and then she is ready to just hang out with her foster family and follow them around the house. She also plays well with other dogs. When Sophie meets a dog smaller than her, she is immediately ready to run and play. With a larger dog, Sophie waits to make sure that she is safe and then-game on! Sophie previously lived with a cat, but we think that she has too much of a prey drive for most kitties to be happy in a home with her. She chases but doesn't harm.
Sophie's ideal family has the time, love (and energy!) to welcome a loving, happy young Aussie into their home. A fenced yard is important, another playful dog would be fine with her, and because she is still a playful young Aussie, any children in the home should be at least 8 years old. How do you spell Sophie? S-W-E-E-T!!! She is a loving, sweet young girl, and if you are a match for this little one please apply on our website. Sophie is fostered near Greenville, NC.
https://aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org/applications-2/
