Sophie Labrador Retriever Mix Augusta, GA

Sophie is a very sweet, friendly, affectionate girl who we rescued in February, 2019 from a house where she was left behind when her owners moved after being evicted. According to neighbors she had at least one litter of puppies that sadly all passed away because she was unable to get to them. Understandably and to be expected after what she's been through, Sophie has anxiety issues and is currently on prescribed Prozac from a veterinarian, which has really helped her calm down and helped her to become less reactive. She's playful, and loves attention, hugs, and cuddles.

Sophie loves to going for walks at local parks and once you gain her trust she will melt your heart! She needs structure and stability and the ideal home would be a place with no other pets and no small children. She does well in a very structured, routine environment, doesn't do well with a lot of changes. Since it's a process for her to feel comfortable with new people, several meet and greets would be necessary and we would like for her potential adopter to live locally to make this more convenient.
