Sophia's Story
- Age: 6 years old
- Breed: Border Collie
- Gender: Female
- Kid Friendly: Yes
- Dog Friendly: Yes
- Cat Friendly: Yes

🐾 Meet Sophia 🐾
Sophia is a beautiful Border Collie, around 6 years old, with the sweetest, most gentle soul 💙

At first, she may come off a little shy—but give her time, and you’ll discover just how deeply she loves. Once she trusts you, Sophia becomes the most cuddly, affectionate girl who just wants to be close to her person.
Sophia came from a backyard breeding/hoarding situation, where she never got the socialization she needed. Because of that, the world can feel a little overwhelming at first. But despite everything she’s been through, she has never shown any signs of aggression—only quiet uncertainty and a willingness to learn how to trust.

She has been with TRUAA for about a year in our Paws in Progress rehab program, and she even spent time in a foster home, which helped her tremendously. She has made so much progress and continues to grow more confident every day.

She is kennel trained (her kennel is her safe space), knows sit and lay down, and walks beautifully on a leash. She does great for nail trims and bath time, rides well in the car, and will come when called once she feels comfortable—treats and gentle love are the way to her heart.

Sophia gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, kids, chickens, goats, and people. She truly has a kind and gentle nature.

What Sophia needs most is a patient, understanding family—someone who will give her the time, space, and love she needs to feel safe. Once she warms up, she will quietly follow you around, lay beside you, and soak up every bit of affection.

She is such a good girl… and she deserves a home where she finally feels secure, loved, and at peace. 💙🐾

Sophia is spay, update to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is currently on heartworm and flea preventative.

If interested in adopting Sophia please fill out our online adoption application at www.truaa.org. We will contact you once your application is approved to set up a meet and greet. Adoptions are done by appointment only and need an approved application.
