SOPHIA IS AN AUSTRALIAN TERRIER!

2/23/18 -Sophia is doing amazing in her foster home and has adjusted very well! She is an absolute love and wants to be with her people at all times. She really enjoys snuggling, belly rubs, and kisses. She has gone a couple weeks without an accident, so it’s clear that she just needed consistency in her life. She absolutely adores the dogs and cats in her foster home and wants to play and give them kisses all the time. She does great in a kennel at night, but would absolutely adore a home that would allow her to sleep in bed with them! She is always excited for her foster parents to get home. She travels well in the car and loves riding in her car seat. She is a social butterfly, but shows her submissive side at times by exposing her belly to other dogs when approached. She has plenty of energy and still acts like a puppy. She has a low maintenance coat and only requires weekly brushing.

Sophia is looking for a home with another dog and/or cat companion to love. She does great with children. She’s looking for someone who can take her to the park and on walks occasionally because she loves going on adventures. She would also love someone that would be happy to share their bed with her. 2/9/18 - Sophia was originally adopted from a shelter when she was just a puppy, but her owners were finding it difficult to potty train her, so contacted YHR to surrender her.

With her previous owners she had urinary infections and crystals that formed in her bladder and ultimately had to have surgery to remove the stones in her bladder. She is now on a prescription food, prescription diet s/o, and will need to stay on this diet to help ward off anymore stones in the future.

Now at her foster home, she has the occasional accident, but does well if she is watched closely or you use a belly band or kennel her when away. Her foster parents stay that Sophia is a sweet and energetic youthful dog that loves being around people. She absolutely adores the other dogs in her foster home and is very curious but respectful to the resident cats. Her favorite things in life include belly rubs, running at the park, and giving kisses. She does well with children and would love a home with another dog.
