He may be timid at first, but his heart opens up when you bring out his favorite treat—string cheese! Sonny gains confidence from other dogs and would thrive in a forever home with a happy, stable canine companion.<br/><br/>This 60 lb, Rough Collie / German Shepherd mix is fast, playful, and loves a good game of fetch—whether it’s with a ball, a stuffy, or anything he can proudly carry. <br/><br/>Once he warms up, Sonny is deeply affectionate and especially loves watching other dogs receive gentle affection, which helps him trust more each day.<br/><br/>Sonny is looking for a patient, loving home with people who understand that building trust takes time. He does best with dog-savvy older kids (10+), every dog he’s met so far, and even lives with a cat (though he’s a little nervous around them). Loud environments aren’t his favorite, but he feels safe with consistency, kindness, and routine.<br/><br/>Sonny MUST go to a home with another dog-friendly dog. He gets his confidence in new spaces and with new people from other pups, taking time to warm up to new people until he is deeply bonded. <br/><br/>Brave at heart, Sonny is blossoming into the dog he was always meant to be.
