Sonny

Sonny is a 3 or 4 year old yellow lab mix. Sonny was found as a stray in Illinois and once at the holding facility promptly gave birth to 8 puppies! The puppies probably saved her life as overcrowded shelters euthanize for space. We accepted Sonny and her puppies into our rescue program. <br/><br/>Sonny was an excellent mom and soon became a favorite with our volunteers. Sonny was very protective of her puppies when other dogs were around. Since her puppies have been weaned and she has now been spayed she is more relaxed with other dogs. Sonny will do well in a family as a single dog OR as a second dog with a proper introduction. Sonny is not a fan of cats or small dogs, but LOVES kids!<br/><br/>She is available for our foster to adopt program. Sonny is now spayed, up to date on shots, micro-chipped, fecal test, dewormed, HW neg, on HW preventative and Frontline. <br/><br/>Standard adoption fee is $295 and includes spay/neuter at our participating vets, immunizations/shots up to the point of adoption, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. <br/><br/>We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments.
