Sonnet's Story

Sonnet is a sweet Australian Shepherd, about forty pounds, fixed, fully vaccinated, and housebroken. He is a quiet dog who has only barked once, and that was when a stranger tried to enter our alley.

He is wonderful with kids, loving with people, peaceful with cats, and excellent with other dogs. He is playful, friendly, naturally submissive and never mounts other dogs.

Sonnet has had focused training. He knows many commands and is trained to recognize sadness and stress. When he senses distress, he rests his head on your leg or chest to comfort you. This is one of his strongest skills and something he does with real gentleness.

He does well in public places. He enjoys playtime but settles quickly when you say play is finished. He walks calmly on a leash, has very reliable recall, and can be off leash without worry. He tolerates grooming, teeth brushing, baths, and the hair dryer with ease. He loves the ocean and handles long car rides well.

Sonnet is a wonderful dog and this decision has been difficult. His needs no longer match my current life, and I want him to have a home where he can grow, be understood, and feel supported. This choice comes from care. He deserves a person or family who can meet his energy and give him the life he is ready for.
