Sonia's Story

Meet Sonia - once fearful and shy but now spunky and full of life!

Sonia has gone from scared in the shelter to safe in a foster home. She has been settling into the home where she is learning life has so much to offer her.

Sonia is doggy-door trained and non-destructive in the home. She walks well on leash and responds well to corrections. Sonia likes to be sneaky and try to see what is going on in the neighborhood, door-dashing occasionally but recalls easily back to your home. She knows basic commands and would enjoy someone who can continue her training. She has done well with the resident dog in the home but would require slow, proper introductions. Sonia has done well with the children in her foster home, but any potential human siblings need to understand and respect her boundaries.

Sonia is weary of new people so she will need time to decompress and build trust with you. Once she does she's a playful, loving girl. Sonia is a herding mixed breed dog and would do best with an owner experienced with herding breeds and their behaviors. She would thrive in a home that can be active with her, as well as provide structure and routine.
